Today started with Crazy Helmet Day, when many of us decorated our helmets. The photos of Chad and me aren’t up yet, but our skills paled in comparison to Linda’s. Hers has a throne for Sylvie, a stuffed flamingo which is riding with her for her granddaughter. Jean has all the states we will visit. Barbara, in the middle, has a Statue of Liberty on the top, a tribute to her New York home.

We rode in beautiful weather 81 miles to Crawfordsville, Indiana. There is some haze here from the fires in Quebec and we expect it to get worse as we go east. Chad is having some itchy eyes and a few riders are having mild breathing issues.

Hillsboro is a little town with some public bicycle art and a sense of humor. It’s otherwise not very prosperous looking.

Tomorrow, 74 miles to Greenfield, Indiana.
