Today we got to meet our Crossroads hosts and have our bikes inspected. Good thing, too, since mine had a badly frayed rear shifter cable which would likely have broken completely within a week. (Somehow my local bike shop missed this in the overhaul 6 weeks ago.) Peyton installed a new cable and I’m good to go. I’d been told what a great help Peyton is, and he lived up to his billing. We also got to meet some of our fellow riders, who seem just as excited as we are.
Later we picked up our younger son, David, and went to the Angels game. It was a thriller, with a 3 run bottom of the 9th rally followed by a 10th inning walkoff wild pitch.

Tomorrow it’s introductions and orientation and then we hit the road!
