Day 19: An OK day

State #5, Oklahoma

Today was an easy 73 mile downhill cruise from Dalhart, Texas to Guymon, Oklahoma. The day started cool with a heavy fog/light drizzle that persisted through most of the ride. It never got hot, it never quite rained, and the wind was never an issue. The horizon is a long way off in this part of the country, and we couldn’t ever see it.

This is “Tex”. The official “Big Tex” is in Dallas.

Texhoma, which straddles the state line. Clever name, huh?

Every day Crossroads updates the map in the hotel lobby. It attracts a lot of attention.

That’s it for today. A late start tomorrow since we have only a short ride to Liberal, Kansas. Keep the comments coming: I enjoy having people share the adventure.

  1. I love the combination of livestock auction house and restaurant. Guess beef delivery is immediate.
