Day 46: Sixth Century

Lock #10 on the Mohawk River

We rode 102 miles along the Mohawk River today, past rolling fields and struggling towns. The weather remained ideal and the miles rolled by fast. Chad and I ate lunch at a sidewalk bar in Scotia, just outside of Schenectady and had dinner at a Moroccan restaurant in Troy. It was my first taste of Moroccan food, and I liked it. Moroccan wine was less impressive.

The last 20 miles was on a paved tree-lined bike path. It made for an easy century.

Tomorrow we have our first real climb since we left New Mexico as we enter Vermont. It’s hard to believe it’s almost over.
