Day -1: Seattle for Fathers’ Day

A beautiful day for a sold out Mariners win!

We flew to Seattle on Saturday, June 20 to see the Mariners play the Red Sox. The stadium hosting the World Cup games is across the street, so we got this photo without spending >$1000/seat to see the soccer game. Although the stadium is named Lumen Field the “Lumen” is covered with black tarps so the stadium is labeled just “Field”.

On Sunday we saw another game. For Father’s Day they had the Mariners on the field with their children, many just babes in arms. It was sweet.

Tomorrow we get picked up early at the hotel for a 2-1/2 hour to our starting point near Coles Corner, Washington for a ride to Leavenworth. Over the next 9 days we’ll ride through Sandpoint, Idaho to Glacier National Park. There will be only 5 riders with 2 guides so it promises to be a fun trip. I rode through Glacier on my first extended bike trip in 2019 so we’ll see whether experience or aging has had the greater effect on me.
