  I did about 1500 miles from January to May last year., with several centuries. One person on the trip , Peter, had done at least 4000. Another had been exclusively on a trainer and said she hadn’t been on an actual bicycle since November. It seems the biggest problem for people was being unprepared for hills. I live in Oregon, so climbing is part of riding, but for riders from the Midwest or the East it’s not. The climbs in Arizona and New Mexico are not that steep (typically 6%) but they go on for miles. Enjoy your ride.
