Today was a great first day, an 87 mile ride to Moreno Valley, California. The temperature was mostly in the 60s, the wind was behind us, and the Sunday traffic was not so bad. After the wheel dip in the Pacific at Manhattan Beach we headed east. It’s easy to forget how much industry Los Angeles has other than entertainment. We saw lots, from space and aviation companies to refineries to factories. Then we climbed into the orange groves, their trees loaded with fruit. Lastly the snow capped San Bernadino mountains came into view.

A great ride followed by a delicious lasagna. Tomorrow it’s on to Indio.
